There's nothing that harvests more of a feeling of empowerment, happiness, and joy than being of service to someone in need. Join us May 15th, 2010 from 6 – 10 PM for the Where Do You Find Your Happiness Benefit Concert and Silent Auction. Enjoy a free night of music with an amazing line up of artists. During the concert a silent auction will be going on, so get ready to bid on a year of ice cream from MaggieMoo’s to a month of tanning at Sun Tan City. All proceeds raised go for school supplies for the orphanages and my travel expenses to Kenya.
About The BenefitOn Jully 12th 2010, I will be traveling to Africa with Think Kindness, an organization dedicated to inspiring over 1 million random acts of kindness. We will be visiting Tumaini Children's Home an orphanage with 170+ children ranging from 6 - 22 years old.
The team traveling to Africa has a two part mission. The first is to deliver shoes, school supplies, and medicines to the orphanages. The second is to film a documentary called “The Roots of Happiness” that will provide financial assistance to the Children's Home for the next few years.
Each of us traveling has a specific purpose. My purpose is to teach the children music. Many of these children have lost one or both parents to poverty or disease. Music can help these children break away from the everyday cycle of poverty and hopelessness. Through music I want to show the children that they have beauty, dignity, and unlimited potential. Check out The Roots of Happiness website for more information!
